Something I do before any session is send my family session clients a questionnaire with questions about their family, what they love to do together, and what shots they would really like to focus on. I find it makes the session go much smoother! I asked Carla a few things about their family and her responses were amazing. I have never had a client write so much and I LOVED it. I already felt like I knew things about her and her family that would help me serve them better.
The Aviles Family hadn’t had family photos done for quite awhile. Carla told me that her son was asking to have them done, which I thought was so sweet! You definitely can’t replace family memories.
Something Carla wanted the photos to convey was that no matter what they’ve been through and will go through as a family that they are stronger as a family, better than they were before, and still loving and happy people. I love that Carla wanted her family pictures to be more than just a snapshot to put on the wall- this really resonated with me. Being creative I really feel each image I take and spend time editing- it’s hard to describe the feeling I get. I felt like this was something that Carla and I had in common- so I was excited for their session.
Take a peek at some of my favorites- I look up to this family, they know what “family” really means- “Family is not an important thing. It’s everything.” –Michael J. Fox
